"We Help Patients Avoid Spinal Surgery and Feel Better!"

By Using Most Advanced Non-Surgical Technology

*Safe & Gentle Treatments

*Proven Results

*Non-Surgical

Are you tired of being in pain and looking to avoid spinal surgery?

There is great news as recent technological improvements have developed an effective Non-Surgical treatment for Bulging Discs, Sciatica, Spinal Stenosis, and Back or Neck Pain. The treatment is called SpineMED® Spinal Decompression Therapy.

Spinal Decompression Works Because...

When the discs in your spine are damaged, they often pinch the nerves. This can cause pain, tingling, numbness, weakness, or other symptoms.

These damaged discs seldom heal because they remain under constant pressure from gravity, even while a person is at rest. Decompression reduces this pressure by gently separating the injured spinal joints. This allows the disc to pull off the nerve, thus alleviating your pain or numbness.

The reduction in pressure also allows nutrients and oxygen to flow back into the disc. This nutrient exchange helps kick-start your body's natural healing process and can eventually heal damaged spinal discs.

Surgery is Often Not Needed

Decompression therapy typically takes 15 minutes and the treatment is extremely gentle. It’s not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during treatment.

Since we've added Decompression therapy our patients' results have significantly improved and most importantly, it has reduced our patients' need for surgery.

In combination with Decompression therapy, Dr. Sizenbach, D.C. performs other therapies to complete the process. Rest assured, these therapies are very gentle and provide more complete healing of the disc and supporting tissues.

Spinal Decompression provides solutions for patients with:

  • Sciatica
  • Bulging Discs
  • Stenosis
  • Back & Neck Pain

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We've Answered Your Most Common Questions

1. What is Decompression Therapy?

Spinal Decompression is a non-surgical and drug-free treatment for disc-related injuries of the neck and lower back.

Spinal Disc Decompression uses computer-aided technology to apply gentle, non-surgical decompression to your spine, increasing circulation into the spinal discs and joints, thus helping to relieve the symptoms that cause pain.

2. How is this different from a Traction or an inversion table?

When muscles that hold your spine together are pulled for too long, they contract. Since traction and inversion devices are a constant pull, the muscles guard against this and resist. When this happens, it cannot create enough negative pressure to allow the disc to pull off the nerve.

Decompression therapy works by bypassing the muscle resistance which helps create a more negative pressure inside the disc. This ultimately helps it repair and pull off the nerves.

3. Do you use any other treatments along with the Decompression?

Yes. Decompression is just one part of our process.  We incorporate other treatments and therapies to help speed up the healing process. Rest assured, these treatments and modalities are very gentle and are designed to help the healing process.

We also will advise the patient on stretching and exercises for at-home care.

4. Is there any research showing the effectiveness of Decompression Therapy?

Absolutely! We will provide you the research articles at our office.

5. Are the treatments painful?

No. Spinal Decompression is safe and comfortable for all subjects. It is not uncommon for some patients to fall asleep during treatment.

Spinal Disc Decompression has shown to be safe and without side effects or complications once abnormal conditions have been ruled out.

6. What Results can I expect?

It is unethical to guarantee a cure. But Results may differ from patient to patient based on many factors such as Age, condition, length of time, and other health factors. Often a patient experiences some relief within the first few (3-7) treatments. Usually, by the 12th to 18th treatment, most patients have reported some remission of symptoms.

7. Can Spinal Decompression be used for patients that have had spinal surgery?

Yes. Many patients have found success with Spinal Decompression after a failed back surgery. Ultimately the Doctor will determine if Decompression therapy will be beneficial in your particular case.

8. Am I eligible for Decompression Therapy?

The most common types of conditions that are successfully treated with spinal decompression therapy are (but are not limited to): Disc bulges (herniations, slipped, or bulging), sciatica (leg pain), disc disease, stenosis, arm pain, neck, and back pain. The best way to know is to call us for an appointment to see if you are a good candidate.

Meet Dr. Sizenbach

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Functional Wellness Center of Omaha, I’m Dr. Scott Sizenbach, D.C. I know you have looked at other offices to receive care and I appreciate you taking a look at ours.

As luck would have it, a few years ago I severely injured myself while lifting my step-daughter out of my car. This severely affected my ability to work and I even contemplated the idea of getting surgery.

So I put my money where my mouth is and went through the SpineMED Decompression treatments you are looking at on this website. These treatments not only helped me avoid surgery but as of today, I am still pain-free.

This gave me a unique position of understanding what my patients will go through and as a result, completely changed my treatment process.

I realized most healthcare providers (and even myself at the time) were doing it all wrong when it came to disc-related injuries. Once I changed the process our results have been sky-high.

You see I’ve never thought it was fair that I get know everything about my patients but they don’t get to know anything about me. I was born in Davenport, Iowa, and moved to Omaha when I was 4 years old. I attended Millard North High School and completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

I then received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.  I have been in practice for 20 years and to date have performed over 100,000 different patient treatments.

At our office, we work very hard at making you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive and long after you have left. We make it a point to get to know you and your family because you're not just a number at our office.

If you decide to become a patient at our office I feel it’s vital that you and I work together as a partnership with your good health and my reputation as the by-product of that relationship. I will never do anything to jeopardize either of these.

Hope to see you soon!
